Toyota ends production of GR Supra in 2025 with A90 Final Edition
Toyota's exclusive A90 Final Edition is a heartfelt tribute with enhanced power, race-inspired design and track-focused upgrades.
The A90 Final Edition is limited to just 300 units and Toyota has made many upgrades to ensure that this truly feels like the perfect send-off.
- Enhanced engine power: The B58 3-litre inline-six turbocharged engine now delivers
435 PS of power and 570 Nm of torque, courtesy of improved intake designs and a catalytic converter with lower back pressure. - Transmission: The A90 Final Edition is offered solely with a 6-speed manual gearbox, hats off to Toyota!
- Aerodynamics: The exterior sports an upgraded carbon-fibre aero package, featuring
a swan-neck rear wing, splitter, and canards honed in Toyota Gazoo Racing's Cologne
wind tunnel. This setup enhances both downforce and cooling, making it track-ready. - Exhaust: Boasts a new Akrapovič titanium rear muffler to give it more of a throaty
exhaust note.
Mechanical and chassis upgrades
- Track-ready suspension: Borrowing technology from the GR Supra GT4 racer, it
gains adjustable KW suspension, reinforced lower arm bushings, and aluminum rear subframe mounts. - Improved cooling system: Track-specific upgrades include a strengthened radiator
fan, sub-radiator, and enlarged rear differential cooling fins to keep this beast cool. - Lightweight wheels and sticky tyres: 19-inch multi-spoke forged aluminium wheels
wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ultra-high-performance tyres.
Cockpit: a driver-centric focus
- Recaro Podium CF bucket seats: Finished in Alcantara with red accents for the
driver’s side, giving it the racecar feel of the GT4 it’s based on. - Roll cage: Built in roll cage for extra safety when on a racetrack.
- Alcantara and carbon fibre details: The steering wheel, dashboard, and centre
console receive premium trims, adding a race-inspired aesthetic. - Unique scuff plates: Carbon-fibre scuff plates for even more weight reduction, and they just look cool.
2025 GR Supra: final model year
Alongside the Final Edition, standard GR Supra models for 2025 receive notable improvements and changes.
- Revised adaptive dampers: Enhancements to the suspension system improve road
feedback and overall stability. - Retuned steering and differential: Adjustments to the electric power steering and
active differential reduce understeer and enhance cornering precision. - Four-cylinder discontinued: Only the inline-sixes will be brought to the final year.
A legacy ends, a future begins
Although the GR Supra’s production ends in 2025, Toyota has hinted at a successor in its YouTube short anime series. Some rumours online mentioned that it would sport a four-pot hybrid system instead of the traditional inline-six, which if true would be a slight disappointment, but it’s still all speculation for now. Would you want to cop the final model year Supra before it's gone?
